Miss Military 2011
Your Miss Military 2011 winner is – Morgan Reed, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve her great country. Lance Corporal Morgan Reed is permanently stationed in Cherry point, NC ; however, she is currently deployed overseas on a naval aircraft carrier ship out of Japan. She loves running , swimming, hanging out with friends, watching movies and reading in her spare time. Her family is very important to her. Everyone describes her as bubbly, outgoing, very friendly, and an all around good person. She has taken a number of college courses to work towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has always wanted to be an elementary school teacher- “I LOVE kids. I grew up in Corning, New York and enlisted in the Marine Corps there right after high school. My parents Tim and Katie (from Corning and Bath, New York), are the two most supportive people in my life and are still a huge help everyday even though I have a very independent lifestyle,” she says. She goes on to add, “My older sister Kenzie and little brother Tyler have also been an inspiration. My sister, for being the first of all of us to get a college degree, and a successful full-time job before age 22, and for my baby brother Tyler to follow my footsteps and enlisting in the United States Marine Corps as well. All four are my best friends, I am very blessed with an amazing family.” In the future, she wants a family of her own and hopefully she will be working as a school teacher but for right now, she loves being on her own and she’s enjoying life while she’s young. “I am an animal lover. I have volunteered in the community for many different things such as: volunteering at local elementary schools, an elderly home and a local seafood festival. I’m a very big people person and am very excited to represent Miss Military 2011.”
